996tt Transmission max torque

Good evening ladies and gents, i have been searching for hours now on the forums trying to find the details about the 996tt manual transmission.
I am planning on 800 rear wheel hp and want to know what reliable power can my tranny sustain without a headache down the road.
Now this is strictly street car only, no track/drag what so ever, just a highway pull every now and a odd launch every once in a while ... Now i know its the torque that brakes stuff not the hp, what torque level should i stay at in order not to detonate the transmission..

ohh.. and i am going to build the motor as well.

Just throw some GT2RS gears in there and a GT2RS main shaft with steel synchros and it will be less of a worry. There is no definitive answer on when stuff breaks. I've seen various guys launch cars with 1000whp/tq and the transmission stood up to it but all things will eventually break.

Fyi your main concern should be 3rd gear breaking. Especially brake boosting on highway rolls.

hp is a mere function of torque, but 800 whp is a lot... just don't DROP your clutch in a digital on/off fashion... if you do you will split a tranny in half (seen it many times)

3rd gear will break, especially if you drive it hard.
