coolant leak - hole in metal line
coolant leak - tough access point
2002 996 TT -
Update: Posted another photo below, which shows was the culprit. It seems odd that this line would sit directly on top of another metal part, but maybe there was a bracket that broke years ago, which allowed the two parts to rub together.
Edit: Post title and contents edited to better describe problem
I have a coolant leak due to a hole in a line that feeds the front radiators. This line sits on top of a metal tube that feeds the turbo; see photos. It's hard to see where this coolant line runs to as it move up the engine, and it doesn't appear possible to remove it without dropping the engine unless there's an access point from above.
Would appreciate someone showing me an image from the shop manual or describing an easy fix. One option is to cut the line from below where it is accessible and splice in a new one.
Thanks.

The car is at the Indy shop now and I haven't had a chance to get over there and take a look, so I don't know how big the hole is. The hole must be a decent size since when the system was hot it was leaking maybe a pint of fluid per minute.
This seems to be a very odd issue and I wonder if there was an improper install previously under different ownership.

That looks like the bleed line that come from the top of the front radiators and heads back to the expansion tank. I would cut out the hole, roll a bead on both sides of the line and piece in silicone hose. use this tool:

Engine does not need to come out.
