I think the next time I go back, it'll be in the FX45 to hit the offroad trails instead, lol...

That's a nice drive but does have some tricky and blind curves though. And its a long ways down if you miss. Personally, I prefer the greener S.M mountains like Mulholland, Kanan, L.Virgines, PCH, old Topanga Rd e.g. Then again, I live near there.

Great day and great drive!!

wil be great to go for a group drive there
That's Hwy 2. Angeles Crest takes a left turn at the ranger station about 9 miles out of La Canada and goes to Palmdale.

It would be fun to make a circular trip of it. La Canada to Hwy 138 via Hwy 2, back on I-15, restaurant somewhere, etc... Except that I live north of Palmdale, so I'd join in after the run started.

Oh, and where did you get that map? That's really cool.
Edit: Nevermind, I suppose I should examine the picture a little closer next time, huh?

Angeles Crest Hwy = Hwy 2.

The left turn at the ranger station is actually Angeles Forest Hwy.

I stand corrected then. It would still be a fun group drive, whatever it's called.

Decided to hit some of the best canyon roads in SoCal Sat morning... woke up, thought about it, and left... drove about 30 miles to reach them, and hit 3 awesome canyon drives totaling about 100 miles. Even though it was a Saturday late morning, we didn't run into much traffic, and only one cop while going through a tiny town. Infinitely better than AC. In between the 3 stretches, we drove through a few tiny towns... very cool.

Stephen: It looks like you guys had a blast. Thanks for sharing the pics.

We did our canyon run as well on Sat. morning on the way up to the Porsche Timeline in Lake Arrowhead. Hwy 18 was free and clear. No pic of the run but here are couple pics while we were in Lake Arrowhead.
