If you are having to replace your MAF every 400 miles, you have other issues that need to be looked into than just the MAF.

I've only had to puchase a new MAF once thus far. I just don't want it to become a common theme.

Not offended at all.

I'm thinking it blew due to the increased airflow it's receiving from the intake. Not positive though. People seem to be having good luck with the Boxster MAF (from what I've read)...and Porsche even started installing them them on the 2005 Turbo S from the factory...so I figured I'd give it a try. I'd rather keep the intake and switch to a heartier MAF than remove the intake.

I was just looking to see if a rough or erratic idle is the only issue people are having with them. That's all.
Are you sure the '05 Turbo S has the Boxster MAF? If so, that might save me some money.

Thanks for the reply Stephen. I called the dealer today and I believe the parts chick said price was about C$525 (U$ 445). Are all Boxster MAFs created equal? Is the new Boxster MAF thae same as the older cars? I think I have a shot a getting it replaced under warranty (if they'll do the 986 instead). If not, what's a fair price for this thing?

Thanks again, Mike

I installed the 986 MAF today as well as a no oil cotton filter (thanks Todd). The jerkyness at very low throttle seems to be gone!
