PSS fronts VS what rears..? need options!
Mark,
Nitto NT01 in a 245/40/18 and 305/35/18 is an unbeatable set up for these cars when RWD if it's not your daily driver. I have found that when RWD these cars perform much better with a staggered set up (ala 997) with the rear tire about 1" taller then the front. The taller rear gives you a larger contact patch, greater load capacity, more grip, and improves your gearing. A winner all the way around. NT01s are actually relatively quiet (night and day difference compared to 888s) and perform very well even at modest temperatures down to 50F or so. They even do relatively well in the wet if you have tread on them. You can get them for under $1000 for the set which makes them ultra cheap. They wear like iron far exceeding a Michelin Sport Cup for example. I have no idea how many miles you'd get on them on the street but I get almost 600 track miles on each set. I go through about 7 complete sets each year as I wear out tires 1:1 front to rear.

..and again, thx all!
ps first rain today in like i dunno..maybe 4 years ! i was spinning donuts lol. time for rears, the ps2's are slippery! it IS after all a summer tire
its' def one of my options/choices 315/30/18. last i checked? i dont care about "life" so much as i do stability and lack of sidewall flex. i'm two sets of rears per annum no matter what i run.

would that much taller rear be optimal for steep uphill climbs/corners? I'm also 9 in front and often think if i went back to a narrower wheel i might even get tighter turn in. i have to know whether the greater difference btw how you run your car ( track ) might call for a different setup than how i am. hills.
not gonna run sumi's...
edit: looks as if i'm stuck with either paying the price again ( ps2's 500 per copy ) or trying the goodrich rivals ( 350 ) and saving a cpl hun on the experiment. the nt01 looks too much to me and for all i know like a track tread. we are sure limited in our choices and after the recent and predicted rain here this will happen sooner than later.

I go 2 to maybe three rears per front set. That is with some fairly aggressive alignment spec's both front and back.
If you push your car fairly hard in the twisties; I say when you need a complete set of tires give them a try on all 4 corners. They even work well on the track. Just do not expect to get much more than 6-7k miles out of the rears and 16 to 19 k out of the fronts.
They are a great tire, fabulous in the dry and very very good in the wet too. I run them all the time now. I like the PS2's but I would not even touch the PS2's over the the AD08's.

this is why i break down every time and just re-up on the ps2's and they only get me 5k max maybe 6k miles on a set of rears. but i dont run to the cords lol. it makes me ill to pay that fat french michelin guy
