Removing Rear Bumper Lower Plastic Grills

IS there anything special that needs to be done to remove the rear lower grills? I tried unscrewing the visible screws, but that didn't get me too far, due to the cold, I decided to throw in the towel, but want to remove them so that I could fully detail the car. I'm hoping the bumper does not need to come off to remove them. Thanks for the help.

what section are you referring too??...

BTW the bumper comes off in less than 5 minutes, you need phillips and two different torx screwdrivers but i was surprised at how easy it is to remove.

I mean the two black grills by the intercoolers.

Are you talking about lower plastic? skirt. Best way is to take off entire rear bumper, same goes for the front, if you want to take lower plastic off, you have to take entire bumper off, screws are on the inside.

It does - I had mine off this weekend to sort out the license plate lights but really it's a cinch to remove. My Torx were T-25 rather than the T27/30 suggested elsewhere. 6 Torx bolts, 6 Phillips screws and the license plate loom connector and it is literally off in 5 minutes. I'd suggest also removing the lower Torx bolt on each of the rear light clusters too just for ease of removal/fitting. Once off, the black plastic intercooler grilles are easy to get at. There's a YouTube video showing the removal of a narrow body rear bumper if you need more assurance
. Just don't forget to reconnect the license plate loom when refitting (the reason I had to investigate in the first place )
