Engine Compatment Lid ????

Has anyone had any problems with the engine lid not opening. Seems as though when I pull the lid switch inside the car the lid locking mechanism is opening then locking.

As a result I haven't been able to open the engine lid all day. Need to add quart of oil. I am doing something wrong?

Any thoughts?

If you fish beneath the left tail light with a thin hooked wire, you will find a manual cable pull to open the lid.
My guess is that your lid bumpers need to be adjusted to provide some preload to the lid so it moves up upon pushing the button. Once you open the lid, try turning the bumpers one turn each to add the preload. Make sure you turn them the right way. You want them to become taller.
Good luck!!

OT but I also think you can only open the trunk if the car is stationary (0 MPH)..

I couldn't find the handle your referred to but while my wife pulled the interior switch button I lifted the lid. Turning the bumpers worked... Thanks for saving me going to the dealer.

I knew I would get it solved through this board. Thanks KPV
