Muffler Bypass Pipes...Good or Bad??

I notice on Fabspeeds website they have muffler bypass pipes. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to these, over sport exhaust systems??
Just Curious,
Evan

I believe that the sport bypass pipes are replacing the mufflers so everything goes from your cat converter to the pipes. U get a much louder sound. I think thats the main difference. You also save around 60 lbs from the rear. I personally think going on a diet is a better way to lose that 60 lbs. Also people with N/A P-Cars say that the muffler bypass pipes are WAY TOO LOUD. Also i noticed ur a young kid. I am 20 as well. PM me and we can exchange info and chill next time im in LA

The louder the better man (yes I am young). I just want to make sure that this loudness, won't cost me performance, or hurt anything else.
Thanks,
Evan

with turbo physics, supposedly The less backpressure you have the better. With the bypass strait pipes there should be next to 0 back pressure, hence best performance. And with strait pipes, the car will be almost deafening (sp?) to anyone behind you...good for track, bad for street and cops...but still fun!!

So mufflers create more backpressure then straight pipes?? I was under the impression it was the other way around, hence me asking if this was a bad idea. Who cares about the people behind me lol j/k, and cops around here don't care about that stuff (knoock on wood). Its actually not that loud on fabspeeds website, sounds about the same as the muffler system, just a bit deeper, and better sound, but not much louder.
Thanks for the help,
Evan
