02 996 TT which turbos
If non x50, it left the factory with K16. If they have been changed at some point, you have to have someone look at them that knows.
Some look different from the outside, some don't and they only appear different on the inside.

another way to "guess" .. is to see if your intercoolers are changed also. because no one is gonna do that, unless they have aftermarket ( or at least k24 ) turbos. just rub your hand on the i'c's under the rear wheel well, and if they are "rough" like a cheese grater? then you have the x50/gt2 i/c's. if the car doesn't have the x50 package, it won't have anything on the sticker bonnet related to engine upgrades as ( iirc? ) the x50 kit is the only power upgrade available from build, that might be visible on build sheet or bonnet sticker.
Step on the gas.
.6 bar, you're probably stock K16.

Do you suspect your car was modded, or do you know for sure?

Yes the intercoolers are a good way to tell ,,,
But back in those days others did switch them out and bought them from others that went on to bigger builds that had X-50..
Hopefully you have that sticker as I mentioned in an above post.
