I made an oops. Need help
Sorry, I'm posting about a Porsche Cayenne turbo 04 955 Turbo on this forum, but always get good advice here, not much on the Cayenne forum.
Anyways, I just replaced my old MAF and a few wks later I punched it hard and my lower (accordion) hose to the MAF popped off.
I went to put it back together and plugged the hose between the MAF and the Turbo/intercooler with a rag, so crud would not fall into the opening. Problem is, I forgot to remove the rag and ran the car.
It stalled after going around the block. I removed all the hoses and diverter valve to find fine dust-type rag material coating the hose to the intake side of the turbo. Just a speck on the MAF and a spec in the diverter valve. Not a trace at the top intake hosing or plenum. I ran a household vacuum to the turbo intake and did hear it wind up very nicely. I can't see how the turbo survived, but it is spinning as usual. The rag is nowhere to be found. I think it's probably clogged up in my intercooler. I can't find a write-up on how to get the Cayenne Turbo bumper off so I can clean out the intercooler, just NA instructions, but not at all the same for the CTT.
1. Any how-to on removing the Cayenne TURBO DS intercooler would be golden for me.
2. Do you have any advice on if I may be overlooking anything else? My car did start and idle perfectly with my DS hoses to the turbo all removed.
I have plugged hundreds of tubes b4, working on cars. I can't believe this happened. I feel like a giant piece of cra* for such a dumb mistake. Any help would be appreciated. I was going to take it to Dearing Automotive in Tucson, B4 I did anything, and they said they would not work on my car because I bought it used and I don't have the full work history on it...NEVER had any shop say that. They suck.
Any help or informed ideas will be gloriously appreciated. Thanks, Retardo

dont call that shop ever again - lol what a strict rules.
that sucks man. only way to do it is to find a good shop and fix the problem, hard to find a problem without diagnostic and tearing stuff apart

All fixed. The rag was made into saw-dust somehow making it into the intercooler. PITA getting the bumper off and on by myself, but all is running really well, but new code. Says my cat is now not flowing within normal values. 2 codes now for O2 sensor and/or Cat now allowing enough flow. Miricle my turbo is undamaged and the car is runninfg really well, even with those codes. It must have been running really rich for some time when my MAF went out.
