996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Can anyone point me to a motivated CGT seller ?

What!? No way Doc. Pull up in something sans "I'm willing to pay anything for this car" written all over it.

Good luck in the hunt. As you are making room in your garage, please advise which you'll be selling. I'm betting on the Lotus.

Dave

RufMD, you need to rent a tercel or something to pull up to the dealership in. With a briefcase full of cash. That way when they don't give you the time of day, you can regretfully let slip that you were willing to pay cash for it, and start to walk out. Make sure there's someone with a camera to catch their facial expressions.

Pulling up in the F40 will end up costing me a LOT of money....

I tend to do best with dealers that listen to your bottom line, give you their bottom line, and then arrive at a middle number within a few minutes. I'd like to think I've done my research before going into the dealer, know the cars and the numbers, and not be treated naively. Folks that have started off with "their going close to MSRP" are not getting a second chance.

Thanks for the tips and "encouragement" !!! A couple of promising leads today, will keep my 6speed gang informed

At this time of year, 'go north young man'. The crummier the winter, the greater the motivation.

Best of luck. Can't think of a sexier garage!

Call Brian @ Family Motors Porsche in Bakersfield. They have one that is Gt silver/terracotta and the owner of the dealership put 75 miles on it. I know they are pretty desperate to sell it and have received lowball offers of $300k. Maybe a legit offer of $360-$375 would take it. I just talked to him about it today.

dgussin1 is infamous around these parts
Rusnak in Pasadena, CA has one on the showroom, it's either silver or grey. I am sure they are asking over msrp though.

Yes, last week they also had a McLaren and an Enzo on the floor. The McLaren sold for 1.8M and the Enzo for 1.1M.

Ha... you must have been the lowball $300 offer.

Keep at them... he'll cave in. I seriously think somewhere around $350-375 is the magic number. I think that would be a steal considering Rusnak still had one for $440 firm.

I also forgot to mention... if you need someone to test drive it for you... I'd be more than willing!

Seriously, if you need me to go down and give it a once over and take some photos for you.... let me know. It was sitting on the showroom floor today and I am going back on Mon to get my sport exhaust installed.
