Need some clarification on boost leak testing

Hi Everyone,
I followed colorinc's instructions in this thread and make one of the homemade kits:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ig-w-pics.html

I plugged the passenger side turbo and connected the tester with the valve to the driver side turbo. It leaked air from the hose going into the top of the intercooler on the driver side.

I also watched this video by Markski:

In this video, done on the top side of the engine, what is blocked? I see where the one tester is placed, but is there a "plug" for any of the other hoses?

Having done the first setup (from the underside), is there any benefit to connecting it to the topside or will they both yield the same results?

I would appreciate any insight on this. I am fairly handy in the garage but have no experience detecting boost leaks-so this is my first run through.

My Porsche is 2001 996TT with k24's and Markski's tune.

Thanks in Advance,

I cannot be the first to test for boost leaks!

If you did the test and blocked the one hose from the y pipe, where else did you block the system?

Really, I would appreciate any insight. My new boost hoses should be here next week and after I install, I will be attempting to check for leaks again. Hopefully I can get back on the road after that.

If your initial test from the turbo inlets under the car holds pressure, then no need to do the throttle body test on top of the engine. If you don't hold pressure and need to further pinpoint your leak, then remove the y-pipe and test the throttle body area, no other plug is needed for that one.
If you hear hissing but can't find it, spray soapy water in the area and look for bubbles.

Thank you. Exactly what I needed to know. I appreciate it.
