I really like "metal" or silver finishes/colors on wheels, especially on black cars. It makes for some great contrast and you can see the wheel more. You could still have a two tone look but in finishes rather than color. Say a polished lip and brushed centers. Also, I have seen some amazing tinted clear powder coat finishes as well. They can make the wheels look like they have a stainless steel look for example. If you have a good powder coater near by have them show you some samples. It's really amazing the finishes that are out there now.
Here is one that I think looks great for example:
"Brushed Matte Light Tint " I copied these pics from here

Refinish as well and maybe a gunmetal with the polished lip. I am sure some other colors would look great as well but needs to stand out a bit more and contrast would be great. The all black look has been getting old for some time. Still like it on occasion but overdone on so many cars.
i ask this question to myself everyday day. I have cow classics with brushed centers, I'd love to change the look up but the brushed centers just look so good :-)
Debating whether or not I should refinish my wheels to a silver center or polished. The black/black style was kind of an early to mid 2000's style.
What do you guys think? Leave them alone or refinish and if I refinish, refinish to what?
I agree, the black/black is super outplayed. My car was matte black with black rims when I got it... Yuck!
I would go brushed clear inside with polished lip. If you do decide to refinish them, be sure have HRE do it. I sent my black wheels to them (they were on the car when I got it) and they refinished them to brushed clear. They were brand new wheels at the end!!
