need help in problem with dealer

Guys,

I purchased my '01 996tt from a web based dealership named TexasToys.com

The problem is this...this dealer told me in an email that the seats were Sport Seats. This was in response to my questioning whether they were or not. They are not. I have tried for the last couple of months to get the dealer to work with me to resolve this issue as I am now having to spend more money to get seats that have reasonable lateral support. The dealer's final comment is that in essence they simply do not feel that they have any responsibility to make good on their false statement.

I am wondering what some of you that are more experienced with dealers than I am think I should do to get them to make good on this?

Thanks

Do you already have the car? If so, how long have you had it? If not, what step in the buying process are you in? I also depends on if this is in writing, and if so, how was it stated?

Unless you are still in the buying process, I think you are out of luck. It will be hard to get them to do something about it.

Maybe if John can get us their e-mail address we could all send them a note telling them what we think of their false advertising. One thousand e-mails.

No...I have owned the car for around six months. I let the dealer know as soon as I saw the car and was aware of the problem.

I emailed the dealer with the question as to whether they were sport seats before purchase as I could not tell from the pictures provided. They emailed back and specifically stated that the seats were Porsche sport seats.

Thanks

Do you have the email saying that the car has sportseats?? I would have to think that would hold up in court worstcase scenario...

why did you buy the car without seeing it and bringing it to a mechanic?

On a more serious note (not that my last note is not serious ), I see that on their website, they have a 90 day guarentee http://www.texastoys.com/site/home.htm
So, why dont you threaten to return the car.

I did have a Houston mechanic check it out very carefully and it passed just fine. I did not have him check the seat type however. I am in Seattle and I could not get away right then. I figured that I was safe with having the mechanic checkout.

Thanks

I have owned the car for longer than the 90 days...I had the car shipped to LA for tuning directly from the dealership in Houston. I never saw the car until the tuner was done about 3 months later. I then notified them right away.

Thanks,

I live about 5 miles from them. I met Anya a year ago or so.
They have nice cars, but usually ask too much for them, and I wasn't all that impressed with the people I met.

I'd be happy to go there in person for you. They wouldn't budge on a TT I was looking at there, so I moved on. I'd be more than happy to drive up in my new TT that a deal was made on.

Seriously, if you need someone to run over there, I can, but I don't know what I'd accomplish other than maybe delivering a summons. .
