Texas Invitational recap: Spin Out story
Texas Invitational recap: Spin Out story
I took the car back to defend my 175mph trap title a few weeks ago at TI, but things didn't work out as planned. I didn't change anything on the car, which, in hindsight was a mistake. I should have replaced my tires. I thought I could get one more event out of the Toyo TQ's. The first test run resulted in traction loss on the hit (65mph). I reduced tire pressure and went out again and still spun. Fortunately, Whereitsat allowed me to bring his R888's as back ups and I threw them on. They hooked fine, but my trap speed suffered as I had to shift to 5th right before the finish line. So, I put the old tires back on and tried "one more time" to make a solid SOLO 175+ trap speed index run. That's when she spun. At TI, you have to get to 60-65mph and hold it for a few seconds before the launch. In this vid, I get into third gear as quickly as possible, brake boost and release. As soon as full boost kicks in, she breaks loose. She dropped some oil in the paddock which turned out to be an oil plug that blew out. She's ok. I parked the car and Periscoped the rest of the races that weekend. UGR Won KOTS, Andy's D3 Viper won RWD and Ali's GTR won the 175 trap attack.

Thank you for not taking out the cones Todd
Asking for your timeslip cracked me up.
Jokes aside we are all grateful that you are safe. You, Team Echelon Realty, and Noble Mortgage are strong supporters of the event. See you on the line next time
