Anyone with ERP clutch chatter?

I only have a couple hundred miles on my ERP clutch(latest revision), but it shudders when I take off. Only happens at takeoff, and can be pretty bad at times. I did not get this with my old single disc. Not sure it I should wait for more break ni or send the clutch back in for diagnosis. It is very annoying. Lol

Basically just wondering if anyone else has the same issue?

I experienced this awhile back when I first got my ERP Triple. The first solution was to do a couple of launches in a parking lot to break it in, which actually worked a bit.

When the car went in for some routine maintenance later in the year, my shop recommended sending it back as there were some updates to resolve this. I don't have the issue anymore

mine does it a little , running clutchmaster. and chatters on idle like and old car that is about to fall apart, also depends on the temperature. been like that for more than a year, I can live with it.

I have the steel flywheel and the revised hub with Lethe spline change.

I'll just have to try launching off the rev limiter in 6th a few times.

Car is parked for the winter while I build my motor anyway.

very little chatter and zero shudder even with a slow takeoff. from what i was told there is no breaking for this clutch . install and beat on it which is what i did. compared to the racket my carbonetics made this clutch is uber quiet

Mark, I think the OP isn't stating that the clutch doesn't hold but rather, its rough during engagement.

I personally noticed that 3 plates tend to be more grabby than one, also, that any disc variance's between each of them create an even more pronounced uneven grab.

Never drove a Tilton setup. I may be completely off on this theory in regards to their setup.

Since I haven't drove a Tilton setup, has anyone complained about their engagement? How many members actually have them? There's always a payoff, ERP may have some but, what are Tiltons?

Nitrorocket, your a nut case! Rev limiting clutch drops in 6th? Is this why your rebuilding the engine?

You may want to consider what plate cooling cycle your using after this if its a success.

I understand and I agree. My guys had issues with high rpm release. The carbonetic chattered too.

A little bit of chatter for me, but im used to that as i usually run semi metallic discs, but its alot better than those for sure and i only get it in lower gears 1-2-3. The ERP clutch is strong and works well for me.

I think maybe I should get my hands on some poly mounts and try those first. I'm sure the motor jumps all over the place and does not help the situation.

torque solutions are a great motor mount. and i used window weld from home depot and filled the cracked trans mount. 74 durometer rating and not a huge increase in nvh
