they're being generous with their after tune hp numbers. an x50 with a tune and exhaust is good for what? maybe 525 crank +/-?


love those roads though, by far, are without doubt the best portion of my day, and it's maybe five minutes tops, to the ocean

Mark, have you ever seen that car blasting around while you are out there? Looks like a solid car, it even has CF10's . I'm surprised the new owner isn't a member here or at renn.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect a San Diego car to be running up and down LA Canyons. Those roads are Matt's stomping grounds where he films the majority of his "One Takes".

I think I saw that car on AutoTrader for a couple months and that it had much more done to it than just a tune.

 

she spews out mods like she knows what she is talking about then says I'm going to get some coilovers (like the car doesn't have them already) maybe pss10 (like thats a great setup to have ). he makes comments about the brakes like he knows they need an upgrade when the stock brake setup is one of the best there is on any factory car. they both talk about overrevs like its a make or break deal on these cars when its well known that its almost impossible to determine how the overrun occurs in the 996tt.
its a joke of a video and to the unknowing person maybe it sounds like they are seasoned pros but in reality neither of them know squat about these cars. my.02 is she should stick to bmws and he should track a prius

 

There is a difference between being a pro and at least doing research before buying. Lets face it, what are the big things that you can find on here by doing an initial search before buying a car?

- Type 2 over revs

I think that, by now, people pretty much differentiate coilovers with a coil-over suspension. They pretty much mean an at least one way adjustable suspension that also has height adjustment and packaged together. PSS10's are the ones that typically come up most often as the go-to for a road going car.

Not saying either of them are experts on the car but they at least look to have read a few things before spouting off.

 

Not too far off guys. It has an exhaust and even back in the days at 1.0 bar the X50's with tune and exhaust made 550 crank. If it has the 2.5 clutch they mentioned it could have Upgraded WG's and what not for 575 on decent fuel. Some make 600 on race fuel.

 

make me feel great about always over inflating my # estimates then. i've got more than that stuff! LOL

a x50 is just a regular 996t with K24s right? so a k24 can make 100 more hp than a k16? ;-/ errr.....
