I would look long and hard at finding the source of your problem before throwing in the towel. Get a wrench that knows these cars intimately to help you out. Obviously you have issues in play that are not normal and require trouble shooting. Your unknown tune that is not even matched to your turbos is a start. Install a new OEM maf, check all wiring, check your brake limit switch, get some data logs, and scan any codes. While at it I'd change out coils if you haven't done those in a while. Eliminate all potential variables.
Going mafless on a hard driven road course car is not ideal in my opinion. There is really no way for a mafless set up to precisely calculate the amount of air entering the engine when using speed density. How do you precisely calculate load without knowing the exact volume of air entering the engine??? Speed density is an approximation at best using tables for a given atmospheric conditions. For a lot of straight line set ups it works great but it is less than ideal especially if you track your car at tracks of different elevations, temperature extremes, etc..
I would not give up on a proper set up using the OEM MAF and retaining all the safeties that come with it. I've been running an OEM MAF for 5 years at the track and have never had any issues with it whatsoever. Zero, zilch, nada. I've never blown a maf either. This is on both a stock internal engine and also a built 3.8 engine with a 7500 redline putting 600whp and 670ft.lb to the ground. Incidentally, I've driven several mafless set ups at the track and none had the smoothness and part throttle response of a proper maf set up. I know guys with mafless set ups will disagree but most had lousy maf set ups and that's whey they switched to begin with. Trust me, if there was a better and safer mouse trap, I'd be the guy to have it... Good luck getting it sorted. Sam will take care of you...
if its not hardware its the tune... Ive seen a lot of goofy stuff...

Got the Cobb AccessPort from Sam and excitedly hooked it up to my car. Nothing!?! Cannot see my ECU! Phone calls and texts with Sam and he's on the phone with Cobb and I'm tearing into the car looking for the ECU to see if it had been hard chipped or had some sort of inline tampering. Nope. So I take out the ECU and send to Cobb. Turns out the previous flash had locked us out by deleting the ECU ID. Joe at Cobb says PIWIS tool is needed to reflash back to stock. Cobb sends back my ECU and I head to Porsche. I show Joe's email to Kellan at Porsche Classic Center and he knows just what to do. They reflash the ECU with the latest software for 2003 X50 with K24's.
Night before Road Atlanta DE.
I reinstall ECU and Sam walks me through the Cobb AccessPort installation. It works and it comes with several pre-installed MAP's. Sam says he will send me the MAFless MAP's that evening. I get the new MAP's from Sam late that evening and download them to the AccessPort.
7:30 am Saturday, Road Atlanta about to go through tech.
I install the MAFless tune that Sam sent me the night before. It loads with no issues. Drive around the parking lot and everything seems to be working fine. The PSM and ABS fail warnings do not light up. No MAF codes.
9:00 am Saturday, Road Atlanta, Lap 3
PSM and ABS fail lights come on. Head into pits. Turn off car and restart. Lights are extinguished. Go back out. Car runs perfectly the rest of the weekend. No codes. No warning lights. See 1.2 bar for the first time ever!
So that is my first two days with the Cobb MAFless tune. Pretty hectic, but so far it is performing as promised. I will update with more observations as I use the car on the street. Thanks to Sam for all the support!

Still running nice I assume bud. Feel free to send over some logs and we can get you more for your buck! Thanks for your faith guys and the awesome review! All it takes is a chance.
So, I had a MAF go bad on me while on a spirited run. Gave me a CEL ( don't remember what it was but ot had something to do with the MAF). Of course I got the PSM off and ABS lights as well.
So I ordered a Bosch MAF through Amazon, disconnected the battery and install the MAF. All seemed well for about 30 miles..... now the ABS and PSM off lights are coming on again. Drove it about 80 miles today and it wouldn't throw a CEL, but the ABS and PSM off lights are coming on. Any advice? Thanks.

First advice is : never buy off off amazon or eBay. Trust companies like pelican parts and order the real Bosch it's like $280
Next u need a pressure test make sure u don't have a hose off.
Check this out for testing

SOB. Really? I thought I searched on here and people were having good luck ordering Bosche MAFs directly from Amazon.
How much was it. $150? Is so no go.
But there is a chance it may be a leak that's causing it. Is the car bucking on boost or part throttle irratic behavior ? If so it may be a loose boost hose. If not then it's probably a bad Maf.

Trust in Markski!! I'm still waiting on my MAF and it should be in by Wednesday. I ordered mine from Pelican. My next venture is to have Markski recommend something for alittle more HP )

Before I installed the new MAF is was acting a little funny. Now it drives perfectly fine, but I'm getting the PSM and ABS lights. Car is an X50 with a 1bar tune on it. Not even sure who the tune was done by. EVOMS air intake box.
I have a COBB mafless tune. Had MAF's blowing left and right. Gets expensive buying MAF's over and over again, and each time you don't get it right, several hundred more in MAF's. I would only trust a few guys to do that and Jon at COBB tuned mine.

Most likely it's a combination of your air box and ur maf. Possible tune as well depending on what's in there.
Your other call a buddy who has the same car, swap it and see what happens , buy a new real one $300, so a pressure test make sure it's not boost or vacuum leak related, or simply try a mafless tune. I had a shop who had a car for 4 months and could not figure out why he's getting Maf codes. They did everything and then some to fix it. I recommended in the end to try my mafless and see. It was a 1 bar car already. Fortunately the owner agreed and I ended up tuning it mafless. Issue solved.
