I'm looking to buy a new set of piston wrist pins for a 996 turbo. I did not notice any vendors listing just the pins. Anybody knows who sells them?

 

Generally sold with pistons and liners as a fit assembly. Selling motorcycle pistons for decades they are sold with and fit to a specific piston. Specific interference fit at room temp, sliding fit at around 180-200 degrees.

 

Better *not* be interference fit at room temperature. Should be press fit/interference fit in small end of rod at all temperatures, and a nice sliding fit in the piston pin bosses also at all temperatures.

That is unless full floating pins are used then they are a sliding fit in both the rod end and the piston pin bosses.

Agree piston pins are usually sold with pistons. But piston pins can be reused if the piston pin bosses are sized appropriately.
