Wheel Hop?
Wheel Hop?
Ok, I've been driving my X50 for about 4 days or so. The power is very cool, but I am getting used to it
.
The question is when punching the gas from a roll in first (not revving and popping the clutch) there seems to be some wheel spin and hop near the top of the rev range?
Is that wheel hop?
The front tires grabbing? the videos of cars doing donuts in snow gives the impression that the front tires "lurch" raher than spin freely like a normal AWD system.
PSM kicking in?
I suspect the tires may a little underinflated. Could this be the cause?
Any way to eliminate or minimize this? How do magazines pop off 12 sec 1/4 miles? Pop the clutch and ride out the wheel hop all the way through first (which is admitedly a short time)? That can't be good for the drivetrain! Wheel hop never is!

Probably are losing a little traction. The X 73 will fix that right up.
As far as the mags at the strip, remember it's not their car. The suspension/drivtrain as good as it is in a TT X50, will never withstand the abuse of the dragstrip. I used to have a '55 chevy drag car that ran in the 9's, I'd launch at about 9,000rpm and carry the front wheels a good 20', you can imagine tha carnage in the rear end. If you ever did hook up that 440hp, you'd surely leave your tranny/diff at the starting lights. To really enjoy that car, try a good road track with track tires, unbelievable car on the right kind of track.
