I've owned 4 different exhaust setups on my car to date(including stock). I promise you I know more about exhaust combinations than you do. 200 cell cats arent going to help all that much with your "drone."
It sounds like you need an exhaust that's lot less aggressive.

Check your ego at the door. I'm trying to help you.
Not interested? Enjoy your car in good health.
Listen Bauer...I'm all for being humble towards those with knowledge as well as appreciating people trying to help, I really am. I truly appreciate forum members who are there to graciously share their knowledge. Ego completely aside, your attempts at "helping" are not coming across as such. That's my point. I'll take you for your words here however and say thanks.

Simply know that your way with words (and your repeated attempts to convince me I don't know what drone is)...comes across as being more about you (than truly trying to be helpful). You haven't even been in my car, nor have you personally run a 3" Kline system. Correct?

In addition, I'm not looking for someone to tell me what exhaust system I should get. I already have one. I'm not buying a new one. Not in the cards. Cats either help or they don't and I live with the results. If you'd like, I'll report back my findings once they are on.

Thank you. Take care.

Thanks for the input...yeah, a bit concerned about that, for sure...but I'll be doing other power adders in the future to make up for it.

This is what I see on Kline's site:

PERFORMANCE
Being a turbo car, the potential for increasing performance via exhaust and software is huge. The largest gains with our de-cat system are 40hp and 64nm. In conjunction with software we achieve 70hp and 94nm.

100cpsi and 200cpsi produce smaller gains of 21hp and 16hp respectively.

SO, I'm sure to lose some power by going to 100 cell cats...just not sure how much.

Thanks for your input.

Josh, the addition of the cats will take the edge off, then we can see how you feel about it. If it's still an issue I will switch the system out for you and make sure you are happy. No worries!

hey! you're fully welcome and given you know your stuff, i'm sure you'll end up with the right setup for your needs. i'd really love to know the difference in performance btw the 200 cel cat setup which i got from sam, VS a 100 cel insert.

but i know two things for certain. felix's claim of +40 running catLESS is totally on point, and.. that sam will get you wherever you need to go and will have no agenda beyond getting you perfectly setup for you, and your cars intended daily usage

best of luck w it joshua!.. and welcome "aboard" ( if you're "new" here? ) it's always great to see new smart folks adding to the discourse. cheers.

add: you POSTED the difference btw 100 vs 200 DOH!

Thanks for the welcome and yeah, new here. Came from the Z06 world. Apples and oranges!

I'm still learning P-Car's, that's for sure...but I'm a sponge. Appreciate more knowledgeable guys like you being there to assist.

Will post up the experience/difference once the cats are on. Regards.

No probs J and thanks again for the kind word guys. As most know my reputation for customer satisfaction and happiness is #1. I know Kline is the same way and that is why we do so well together. I don't want to take away from Dave's awesome review but since it went sideways breifly I want to clarify for some who may not know...This system is 1 of 3 variations available. Of the three we have the ability to build in Stainless Steel, Titanium and Inconel. Then we have several cat converter variations. This is all to fit and tailor to the clients needs and application. The Swiss Army knife system is the 2.5 inch that everyone loves so much. Sound and drone can be subjective as well as individual desires and that is why verity is so great. Being modular you can play with a few things and I always stock all of them ready to help people try stuff out. Especially in cases like this where the car was set up by the previous owner. Heck he would have gone louder. And as Josh said it sounds glorious now but not what he would have chosen. Try the cats, It will make a difference and power will not be an issue especially with the Cobb AP in play soon. Being modular it's an easy swap. If that is not the solution I will take care of swapping to the 2.5 we know he loves and have another happy Kliner. Then someone else will get he 3" and wish that ITwas louder lol!

Cliff's notes: Here to help no matter what and make sure even second hand users are happy!

It was mentioned somewhere that the k24 cars drone more with the bigger more open turbos. How much truth is there to this? Is it just a little or significant. Just wondering, because I have K24s and horrendous drone.

That's a really good point. They definitely do make a difference and on certain systems it's enough of a difference to change the entire character of an exhaust. But a lot of the nice 2.5 inch quiet style can handle both turbochargers no drone.

my 2.5 w 200 cats was WAY too quiet until i got those decat pipes from you. i could handle it louder still but most of the "street" bits that "were" from the factory on the car as delivered "new" have been replaced ( most, not all e.g. no solid sub frame bushings etc lol ..) but which make it ( all oem bits, that is..) far more appealing to those that daily drive or are stuck primarily in city driving with it.

it's all cumulative and one gets acclimated to NVH as it increases incrementally. which of course, is logical.

five years later. a thread resurrection and i find myself in a no smog testing non compliance required state.

i was able to re-use my decat pipes that sambo gave me many years ago.

no bi-annual smog tests and back again running with decats. woo hoo.
