Question Should I install an OIL COOLER for the Tiptronic?

I don't track the car.

Are these worth adding? is you are running 650 (crank) bhp?

The gearbox has not been upgraded either.

Anyone else running these?

Input much appreciated!

There is an oil cooler on it that uses the engine cooling fluid.

What do the tiptronic trans temps usually run? The cooler is an integral, part of the 722.6 Mercedes transmission for the Porsche. Trans fluid pumps from the passenger side outlet of the trans into the water to liquid cooler on the drivers side. It is then internally returned to the transmission. I am going through a similar dilemma, with an 03 tiptronic carrera I have transplanted an ls1 in. Trans temps reach the 95c mark or more with regular driving which I don't appreciate. The coolant temp stays at 80c or so, but I would guess that the trans temp can't be less than the coolant unless 100% trans cooler efficiency is realized.

I haven't decided whether to put the factory trans cooler on its own coolant loop with a heat exchanger up front, or disconnect the coolant all together to the favors cooler and add a air to liquid cooler to the trans cooler line. The problem I see is the factory cooler again is integral and any cooling to the fluid before it will result in the cooler warming the fluid back up to engine temperature. Don't know which way the best to keep temps in the 70c range
