Who's running water/meth? What are your setups?

I'm interested in investing in a meth kit for my 100oct tune.
What kits are you guys running?
Do you like it?
Can I see your setups?

Thanks,
Rich

Been running aquamist for over 30k miles on my 2003 GT2.

I wired and setup the system myself, and have never had any issues with it. I run 1.6-1.7 bar all day long with an electronic boost controller.

Meth injection is the best way to daily drive a race tune, but you HAVE to go the aquamist route. Most engine failures I've heard of are from people running cheaper meth systems, like AEM's.

I have a aquamist on my car installed by ttboost i can only assume it been on the car for 20k miles or more with no issues. The only thing i have done to it was intall the new compression fittings from Howerton. I run a AEM kit on my audi s4, I have had it on that car for 6 years and....5k miles no issues. How are the AEM kits failing or causing issues, Couple of my local friends run them on 997tt's...

I too run an AEM kit on my car... Installed by Todd @ Protomotive. He likes (and stocks) the AEM kit, as of 2014 anyway. I have a Greddy Profec-b boost controller, and he wired in a relay so that if the meth tank gets down below the level sensor, or if the pump fails, it will turn OFF the Greddy so I drop down to wastegate-only boost pressure. I've put 4-5k miles on the car since I got it back from Proto and I've never had any issues. 93 oct + Meth is the only way I run the car... :)

That the difference..Aquamist includes everything with their kit. No extras relays to buy, etc. Aquamist has a couple built in safety's. One is the float level sensor, in the tank (which the tank isn't provided by Aquamist as all applications are different), that reverts back to wastegate boost levels when you run out of Methanol. 2nd is the flow sensor, that is installed in the line somewhere (usually close to the nozzles), so if there is a line failure (burst, melts etc,,) boom, wastegate boost again. All of this gets wired directly to the ECU.

Has anyone logged IATs with these kits? Being in AZ, that is always something that I worry about and was thinking about going this route simply to lower temps below that of the surface of the sun during summer months.

We did a long time ago, but forgot...IAT's were always more than acceptable and never put you in the position of having to deal with timing retard, etc...

Yea, I don't have any proper IAT measurements... but I can tell you that after blasting up and down the road a few times, my entire BBI y-pipe is cool to the touch - if that's any indicator. And my car puts down about 750rwhp

I ran alcohol injection (similar to meth) on my Rx-7 in Arizona. Intake temps were always 20+ degrees below ambient. Plus a 400 degree drop in EGTs.

I want meth on my 996tt so bad!

Where are you guys installing your nozzle(s)? Are you running multi-port setups, or single/dual nozzles??

Thanks!

Here's where I had mine...
Attachment 484676

I still have this manifold as well, if someone wants to buy it...

How much?

ttboost Jul 27, 2016 06:04 PM

Cheapest one on eBay right now is $100 (there's another one for $250). I'll do $100 shipped anywhere in CONUS?
