Just completed the latest round of mods in my project.
IPD Plenum
74mm TB
SRM Y-pipe

Let me just say, if you're thinking about doing this also, this job was a ROYAL PITA !

Anyway, to the point. Gonna dyno this weekend (if my clutch holds)

Mods;
Speedtech 3.0X pipe exhaust, no cats
Cobb
Mafless tune w/filters on turbos
SRM 4.5 " intercoolers with their 2.5 " plumbing
SRM Y-pipe Tial diverter
IPD plenum and 74mm TB

stock K16's

Engine bay looks super sick and symmetrical with that y-pipe setup sans air box. Good job man!!

Can't wait to see the numbers. Do you have a baseline run ?

996tt550hp Sep 26, 2016 07:01 PM

Depends on what dyno you go on.

awd dyno? Dynojet?

Somewhere in the high 400awhp. Nice mods man....

BLKMGK Sep 26, 2016 07:13 PM

Fuel? I suspect the clutch will go pretty quickly!

TabooPc Sep 26, 2016 08:11 PM

If its a dynojet, my guess is 480whp, if its a mustang, 440awhp.

Good luck! :D Nice mods, but without bigger turbos they're probably overkill for the flow of the stock k16

Stock fuel and I'm about to the end of it. Clutch is on borrowed time for sure.

DynaCom is similar to Dyno Dynamics and Mustang.

My prediction is going to be somewhere north of 500awhp. Not over 550 but not under 525awhp.

I have a lot of parts that most people, like yourself, have classified as "overkill" or "unnecessary" for K16's. Acutally, pretty much everything I have is considered overkill by the current way of thinking. I think I'm about to change the way peoples thoughts on mods.

But right now, it's all bench racing till I get something on paper. Fingers crossed my clutch survives a dyno run!

My thoughts were that you wouldn't gain much from the intake mods with k16s as well.

Sub'd to see the results...interested to see how it goes, maxing out those k16's!! ;) What fuel will you be running? Any plans for water/meth?

BLKMGK Sep 27, 2016 06:19 PM

That dunno will be stingy if it's akin to the DynoDynamics piece - which is awesome for tuning btw. The intake pieces won't gain much except that TB and flow through the intercoolers. Intake side without the MAF will help a bunch. Interested to see results for sure, suspect you'll run out of clutch and fuel before you find peak, especially on a load bearing dyno.

I will definitely be maxing out the stock K16's. At this point, other than opening the motor or nitrous, I'm not sure what else will net me any HP gains.

For this session I'm gonna run a 93oct tune. However, i also have a 100oct tune i can run if the clutch holds.

I anticipated running meth in the future and had Sean put 2 bungs in his Y-pipe.

Your limited in fuel and turbo 's.

D.K Sep 27, 2016 10:08 PM

Where are you going for the dyno runs? I'm looking for shops in the area myself.
