New owner of a 996TT
Glad to see drone being taken into consideration! Eventually I'll have some muffling on mine, it's a little rowdy without them for my built up area but I've had a few folks REALLY want to hear it in traffic lol
Consensus is it's loud and whistles like a referee. No mufflers/resonators. The sound it produces pass 5k rpm is intoxicating though. 991 GT3 like honestly. I've found that with the proper throttle control i am able to drive it at a extremely reasonable level around town. There's also a cruising spot around 2000-2100 rpm where it is literally stock-like. The scavenging from the X pipe definitely assists this. Your set up is no doubt going to sound killer as well.
My guess is the car will still be very loud even with the 4 mufflers but we will see once I fire it up.
Lets address the fuel system. I've done just a little bit of research in this for the 996TT. It seems the popular method is dropping an in line pump and higher rate regulator. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I will be taking a different approach. Working with a company name Radium Auto who builds fuel surge tanks and other fuel components. They currently have my car in their facility. They're doing some R&D and has come up with a very fancy fuel surge tank system that is all enclosed without hacking up your car. Best part is I can keep my stock pump in place. The surge tank houses two Bosche 044 fuel pumps that is rated for well over what I'll be making. The factory pump feeds the tank so it always stays full.
They are also working on fuel rails and lines going back. I'll likely be using ID2000 injectors.
