Newbie Question Weight Loss Thread

Hello you all new to the forum

I was on the weight loss thread and was trying to figure out the difference between factory 996 turbos hollows and turbo solids under wheel section.

How do I tell the difference?

on the back of the wheel spokes - if they are indented you have hollow spoke if they are smooth they are solid spoke.

Feel free to call if there's any other stuff I can help you with on weight reduction. It's actually the other way around although it's super confusing right now. If the thing feel solid like a tube it's hollow inside. If it's in dented in the back then it's a cast which is solid and heavier.

Yes Sambo is correct.

Smooth back side = The light hollow spoke one

Thanks for all your help. Never knew they made 2 different wheels for the same car. Were the hollow an option?

Hollows seem pretty light for a stock wheel @ 22 & 26 pounds.
