Intercoolers- some pics of what we use
As of late there is a lot of debate when it comes to coolers. I see plenty new companies introducing new products but as usual we only see the end product... Nice and shiny with boost hoses included... then add the cheap price and who can resist right?
Here are my 4.5" cores on the inlet side , one with denser design( optimal cooling) and the other designed for high flow. I'm not even going to mention how many cars they are on since 2006, some with over 1000 whp long before 2010.
In times when you can buy cores for $20/ each on alibaba.com when you get 50 sets, I still believe in quality over the bottom line profit. I choose to use the best core I can get my hands on( very hard to do because US companies do not make these sizes), that is why I convinced Gerhart at Bell in late 2005 to make some special runs for me with various sizes from 3.5, 4.5, to 6" cores.
In the 10 plus years I've been making them I had only 2 core failures during final pressure test... try that with others and you will soon find out why some cost considerably more and that's just the beginning.
Its no secret what I do... I just choose to show what and how I make it... that quality starts with a good core and ends with a real good pressure test.... and all the in between stages of production from leak free welds and one piece end tanks to cnc machined boost hose flanges....
thanks for looking....
