film? http://www.autoanything.com/lights/60A1218A0A0.aspx

or "covers".. making them appear as ovals"? ebay has a few offerings, mostly asian sourced "stick-ons"... but i've seen them up close on other cars and they never seem to lay flush. presumably owing to the curvature of the lamps. they look to be a dubious choice.

film, on the other hand, looks great... mine are smoked out.. as am i

My car come with covers of a few mm thick
they aged & become yellow and extremely difficult to remove
also not sure if because they insulted heat
at one side, a mark probably due to heat was seen at the headlight after removal of the firm

so my suggestion is use thinner one from reputable brands
