Question on side air intake 996TT

Hopefully someone can help me on this one.

I noticed a rustling sound on the right side of my 996TT when driving along at 50mph.

The noise continued for 20 seconds and then a loud sucking and POP noise followed.

I'm worried something like a plastic bag may have gone down the air intake on the side so can I just reach down in there? If not then how would I go about clearing out this duct?

Is it possible that something would get sucked down there?

Thanks in advance.

You need to remove the inner wheel liner and the duct work. It is possible that something could have gotten in there. You will often find small pieces of bags, leaves etc.

How often should this be checked?

Yes, I have a portable vacuum with a hose narrow enough
to go down there. I've never gotten anything out of it.
