Door Lock cable replacement help

I need to replace the driver side interior door handle cable.

Does any one have any advice on how this cable gets disconnected from the door lock mechanism?

Does the entire lock mechanism need to come out?

I looked up some diy and this is the part I'm having issues disconnecting because the lock mechanism seems to be slightly different in the TT.

Is this the correct part number 99653732003?

Thanks

Thanks Steve.

That cable is like $10 surprisingly. I almost had the lock mechanism completely out, I just didn't know how to get the outside door handle unattached from it. Was short on time so didn't really mess with it too much yet.

Do you know if the outside door handle needs to be removed to get it detached from the actual lock mechanism?

pretty sure you're going to have to pull the latch assembly out to do it, but haven't tried inner cable vs installed in door...
I've got a couple complete doors and also loose door latch assemblies at my shop...actually doing a new door latch assembly on a 996tt this week
