Question Panic my TT is falling apart!!

There is a bubble underneath the leather on the dashboard. It looks like the glue gave up. Any idea how to fix this ??

Thanks

Nope, sorry, it's a total loss. I'll come over and take it off your
hands. It's obviously a lemon but I can still give you a few
grand for the parts that aren't similarly infected...

Don't offer me money you do not know how the rest looks like!-

Seriously that bubble drives me crazy; since I saw it first I am always looking at it.

Could you perhaps provide some details on your TT (like year?) I have heard several others with this problem and if it is still under warranty Porsche has replaced it.

wross996TT,

It is a 2000! I had one of the first in Germany. So two reasons not to have warrenty 1. too old 2. not bought in the U.S..

A very good leather specialist may be able to inject some adhesive into the area and fix the problem.

this will happen if you use leather conditioner on dash. there has been a Porsche bulletin about this specifically. It may even be in the newer owner's manual.

I have a problem on my '01 dash as well. It is a known problem on the cars. I have heard a rumor that it was caused by one of two things; an inferior leather grade getting into the production line (or) a bad glue job at assembly time. The leather on my car looks almost as if it is shriveling up. I will try to take some pictures to post.

BTW...use 303 Aerospace on the dash leather to rpotect it from UV!
