Man, $32k for an x50, no accident, with sport seats no less, if that car checks out at 92k miles she is just barely broken in!! Someone needs to do a solid ppi on that car and snag it!

So this has been done in that last few thousand miles

1. Replace flywheel and clutch 82000 miles
2. Oil cooler housing and seals at 88000 miles
3. Plugs coils and oil pressure sender 88500
4. Fuel pump, fuel filter and pressure regulator at 88500
5. Fuel injectors at 88500

6 new alternator and lifters currently being replaced in shop under warranty.

Looking pretty good in my mind. Still haven't drove they are doing the work and he's holding it for me. So next week should tell the tale.

Clutch can go at any time. Too much slippage can take out the flywheel.

Oil cooler housing and seals? Not too common to have the oil cooler leak but seals can go at any time.

Fuel pump can also fail at any time. But they don't often fail at 88.5K. But fuel pressure regulator? And then fuel injectors? This smacks of someone throwing parts at a problem.

And now lifters? I don't know...

Be sure you give the car a thorough road test and I hope that warranty is good if whatever problem the parts are being thrown at is still around if you buy the car.

I agree, this is a pretty good list of stuff that's coincidentally going bad? One doesn't know if this is end or just the beginning of ongoing repairs. Personally, I'd walk from this many issues. There's always another 996 Turbo for sale, that's the nice thing about there being so many!

i don't get what's alarming about that recent parts replacement list? how old are these cars again, anyway!?

fuel pumps can go at ANY time, and its usually the fuel LINE that ruptures and replacing the whole pump is just what "we" do.

plugs/coils? a clutch at 82k?! these are friggin wear/maintenance items. not red flags. oil sender units? and fpr?! another big wow.

the only thing i'd be in the least concerned about would be lifters. all else is.. whatever

maybe there is just too much bph in the water these days?! because folks sure seem to scare easy lol

Hell who knows maybe I can get him down to sub 30000. I'm at least gonna drive and ppi it. Worst case I'm out 300 bucks and a few hours. It's definitely worth that.

Yes! I don't think you could possibly go wrong anywhere near 30. Poor girl is worth at least a drive. She might just surprise you.

Lol...I mean sheesh has anyone seen and/driven this car yet? Carfax? How many owners? Sounds like it has some recent records does it have any past records? 90k miles is nothing for these cars especially if properly maintained and not abused. Someone needs to drive this car and get it up on a lift to have a look around...if she is dry/clean underneath and runs great this could be an amazing deal.

Honestly if everything checks out I can't believe she hasn't sold yet.

It will be thoroughly checked out and driven next week. It's in the shop right now having warranty work. 3 owners clean carfax and yes there are records from day 1. We will see how it pans out.
