I haven't liked the 997 interior from day-1...and I still don't.

I agree. The 997 interior is more 993, but I didn't like that either.

The 996 interior is still the most ergonomic place I have ever sat, IMVFFFHO.

"The angles bother the hell out of me... Well, that and the 50 buttons in the center console."

I only counted 44 buttons on the center consloe, not counting the round radio controls...unless I missed some!

I love the 996 interiror too. The 997 console IS busy. Well I'd rather have button madness than a 3 inch dial a' la BMW!

I absolutely think the new 997 interior is leagues ahead of the 996. No comparison. But for a selfish reason. I have wanted to buy a 911 for years, but could never fit. I am 6'6", and fit in the new 997 cab. Have a TT on order.

Can't wait.

I think the 996 is what a sports car interior should be spartan and basic!

Looks like the 996 interior is more classical and hard core..
I am sure that the 997 interior is more refined and probally better fit and finish; But as far as the whole classic Porsche line goews, the 996 is the ticket!!

both are awesome, but I like the warmth of the 996.. It just looks better..

Look at it this way:

If they made the 997 interior after the 993 interior it would have made more sense.
But look at the 996 interior; that spells classic Porsche all over it!!
I know it sounds like I am contradicting myself, but I think the 996 interior is alot more classy and smother than the 997..
