sean will take care of you. pin them it will be fine. if you look at the hoses in the bay you will see how crowded it is and why its cost effective to replace as many as possible if the motor is out. same for the water pump. 20 minutes with engine out hours with it in

Pinning is fine IMO but I'd pull them out, clean them, and reapply a good appropriate glue. In one of the other threads appropriate glues were discussed.

Yes, $10k is a nice estimate if you do all the water and vacuum hoses, expansion tank, water pump, plugs, coils, motor & trans mounts, pin or weld, belt.

I've always gone a little above general maintenance for reliability out of the gate so I spend less time later FN around.
These cars are 15 years old, lots can be ready for replacement so your budget and long term plan for the car help make decisions, duh...right?

Your car has 63K miles and is 12 years old. You may want to consider replacing the water pump. They are prone to failure. And if you do that, consider replacing the coolant and the coolant overflow tank. The tanks age and crack. Even though the coolant is "lifetime" after 12 years, it's not a bad idea to flush the system. Especially if you are going to replace all the belts and hoses.

Previous owner did the expansion/overflow tank recently before I purchased the car along with a few hoses.

Pipes are being pinned, so fresh coolant will also be in the car.

As for the water pump, I will rely on Sean from Freed to let me know if it needs to be done.

Ask you shop how a engine R&R cost for your major repair cost. This should help you determine value inn getting things done in one work order or down the line multiple work orders.

Not every budget allows for all preventative maintenance at once so plan your budget wisely.
in addition to the above cost of clutch, slave, coolant lines, budget and ask about suspension as you had asked. Consider struts , shock mounts, might as well do front and rear, if you do coil overs, then consider adjustable drop links for maximum camber adjustment .... oh,dont forger labor and alignment.

Thanks for all the responses! Such a helpful community I am joining!

Freed Performance is going to do a once over the engine upon it being pulled, so anything that is on its last legs or needs to be replaced will be known and most likely done.

As for the suspension, I will drive the car back from GA, so upon finishing the drive I will be able to determine what needs to be done with regards to the suspension. I wouldnt save much aside from getting the car onto a lift if Freed were to do the suspension at the same time as the motor work.
