He will blow engine if he drives it everyday like that with no internals. I think they just did it for the shootout.

I agree, 1.4-1.5 is too much without major internals and shortened engine life. It seams the common consensus is 1.2 bar consistently with good AFR’s acceptable long term damage.

I'm really disaapointed if that is true. Sure, run 100 octane and matching program, this is something we all can do. Very few of us will run at 1.4 bar and up. Can you relay the request to run again at 1.2 boost for better (realistic) numbers? Please?

OK, spoke with someone at the track. Buddy has a turbo leak (much more likely to account for the hp drop off and easier to explain than an intake crack).

Buddy was running 586.7hp and 563.9 torque with 1.5 boost. He was only able to get 1.3 boost with the turbo leak, so in my view, the numbers he put up are realistic and Fred's are not. Pretty big drop off .3 boost difference (586-522 = 64hp). This is with 100 octane race program. So, I would expect a similar 60 hp drop on Fred's numbers with normal 1.2 boost versus the 1.5 boost Fred ran.

It is obvious that we will need additional data to interpret these numbers. If Protomotive ran 1.2 boost, he kicked Fred's booty.

Duane:
Can we also get boost numbers?

Here are the results so far

Freds Car 563.8 to the wheels 507 torque
Protomotive 551.7 to the wheels 535 torque
Axis car 399 to the wheels 381 torque
Hartman 499 HP and 508 torque
By Design 496.2 HP waiting on torque
Buddy 520 HP Torque 508 "turbo Leak" Yesterday 586 hp and 563 torque

As long as boost is disclosed, I don't have a problem, as it's not my grenade I'm sitting in front of.

1.5 boost vs 1.2 boost

I have to say I am very dissapointed. Yes I have a dyno sheet right in front of me that says 586.7 hp and 563.9 ft lb of torque that we ran yesterday on the same dyno. But when the magazine article comes out the RED BEAST will only be showing 522 hp.

We have a bad turbo boost leak somewhere and Todd with EVO is trying to find it. I hope we can get it fixed in time for the track event tommorrow! The Ghetto machine is next up then SCARGO and who knows what Cargraphic is doing. They were suppose to go before Alex.

Reporting live from GIAC a very dissapointed BUDMAN!
