Slave Cylinder Failure after gt2 Conversion
Slave Cylinder Failure after gt2 Conversion
996tt is at the shop for a tranny rebuild. Owner just emailed me that everything was ready to go, and had the clutch slave cylinder fail. Is this possible considering it had the gt2 conversion done about 4K miles ago? Been burned before by some less than honest shops, and I can't find one instance of a failure subsequent to the gt2 conversion. Thank you in advance for any input!
When you do the conversion you have to get all of the pentosin out of the line, and I mean all of it. The pentosin ruins the seals in the cylinders. Your slave likely had some fluid left in it. Very common issue, it happens to most who do the conversion. Have them flush the lines again and replace the slave.

Thanks so much for the response, this is helpful information. Should brake fluid be used to do this or would hydraulic oil be more appropriate?
