I have a bone stock 2001 TT. I use it as my daily drive and currently have 32K miles on it. I am cognizant of where I park in the parking lot but otherwise, considering the performance, it has proven rock solid reliable.

Regards

Sameer

I drive to work everyday, but am starting to feel guilty sitting in traffic and adding miles to my 12K mile 4 year old X50.

I guess the short answer is that my short commute wich coincides with LA's helathy rush hour does not allow for taking advantage of the car's performance potential. A sport sedan say an E55 , would be more comfortable and practical for that particular purpose.

Don't get me wrong, I love this car and plan on keeping it long time. I find it is better suited as weekend car, even though it is undoubtedly capable of reliable daily use.

I'm lucky in that I've got a couple of Turbo options to choose from. They get driven whenever there isn't snow on the ground or when I have to drive into New York city. As John D II mentioned, the 996TT is actually a terrific car in the rain.

I used to drive my TT every day but I only had to drive 5 miles to work. That ride was way too short. As I moved further away from work I generally drive the E55 as a "commuter" car. I got to get out more in the TT on the weekends I miss that rush on a daily basis.

Exactly, without a doubt it can be used daily, i just feel i dont need to be putting the miles and beating it up daily and its so much fun looking forward to taking it out on the weekend or for a few hours during the week

The E55 is a sweet, luxurious ride with enough jam to keep a guy feeling special!

Life's too short to worry about a ding or a couple of extra miles.

It's more fun to keep your eyes on road and not on the odometer.

5,000 miles in 3mo, drive 3 days per week, rain or shine. LA to SFO via Coast Hwy 1 thru Big Sur...doesnt get much better unless it was a cab (but with 75more HP to offset the dang weight!)
Tip here so no issue with traffic. Stock seats with lumbar are terrible though for my 6'1" frame.

I dont drive my GT2 everyday either, in the winter she is up and away from the ground. During the "nice" months I do drive her but would never think to have it as a DD'er. No way would I torture the car like that in the Chicagoland area nor in the rain, the car is unpredictable in the dry let alone trying to keep those 315's in the back axle calm when you hit a puddle at 50mph. Besides I love driving my RS6 as a regular daily beater, all the comfort and plenty of power.

I drive mine for pleasure only......... early Saturday/Sunday mornings less hassle less traffic in the Chicago area. 8k miles in 4 years, all just for the joy of it.
