I was under tyhe impression that the word "STUTTGART" should be in black...Can soemone cross check with their OEM gold hood badge?

Lou - actually if you check your gold hood crest you will seethat the stock one also has the letters in gold...I thought the same as you...Checkout thois same thread in the 996 section for clarification

My RBoothe hood badge flew off my hood! Just the studs left on the hood.

It is not a good idea to tighten hood badge studs like you were torqueing head bolts.

The badge was not over torqued actually it was on the loose side due to hearing of this problem occuring. This happens quite often.

Oh and another thing is you have to bend the studs, just to be able to get the badge to seat on the hood, for some reason they are always bent I think something to do with the plating process.

Badges could be flying off due to having to bend the studs to install, weakening the area where the studs are attached to the badge.
