Mufflers

So what will sound better and give better performance:
1- Race Pipe
2- Muffler by pass (a cat with a straight pipe)
3- Cat by pass

I know I can get 1 and 3 from FVD. Where can I get #2 from.

I saw two guys today at the track today with the FVD Race Pipes. They sounded like a race car. I have also heard the Fab muffler bypass and it droned too much. I am considering the FVD for track myself.

Martin,
I think we have very similiar approaches. We both were buying mods prior to receiving the car and notice we both are attempting to buy similar used parts etc haha. I too am thinking about goin with one of these three options, but definitely want to hear the fvd race pipes in person bc I dont want it to be so loud that I want to kill myself on an hour drive

LOL, well race pipes obviously will yield out the best power gains, its a straight pipe, hardly any bends or air flow disruptions.

I went for the fabspeed 100 cell cats and straight pipe and used the stock tips. Did this for several reasons, price (half that of a fancy new muffler), weight (about 50 pounds lighter) and sound (sounds like GT3 race car).
Also, I didnt want to screw around with CEL's and new ECU programs so I kept the race cat and then no CEL's.
You will hear alot about what the cars sound like and that is very personal. For me the car is not loud at idle, awesome at WOT, and you are able to carry a conversation in the cabin but it is loud.

Unfortunately I dont have them anymore... I switched my whole set up.. and my car is at protomotive... my fab guy is here in Chicago... but he doesnt have a car to do it... it has to be fitted...
I would need a TT with 100 cells on it to make it...

God i cannot wait to do this.. Question, how much louder do you think it would be with cat bypass instead of race cats, if you know at all? And do you have evo v flow intake?
