Question about disconnecting front drive shaft

I want to go to the drags and run just RWD. My car is in for service and the Porsche Service Advisor was fine disconnecting the front driveshaft but the mechanic was concerned that running to the track and back could do damage with leaking fluids, etc...

What is the proper procedure to disconnect the front driveshaft and is it safe to do? Any harm to the car?

Thanks

Wait, you are going to the drags? I can't wait to see the results, Buddy! What tires will you be running?

Make sure to heat them up if you can. They should do very well, though. As for the driveshaft, I believe that you can disconnect w/o having to worry about leaks.

Divvextreme would be a man to ask. However, he did the full conversion...

Difficult, buddy, but not impossible. I cut a 1.79 60ft with 19" HREs and 315/25/19 Yokos (not the best for drag racing) on one of my runs. It can be done...

Ari just did it to his car. Very easy, supposedly like a 10 min. job, no problems leaking anything. He's hitting the slopes this weeke though so he might not be able to answer this post.
