Question about OEM tires
Question about OEM tires
Has anyone else noticed their Pirelli P-zeros howling like a banshee at 65 mph and above? I don't quite know how long mine have been howling, but it's been at least 3-4 mos as I recall Todd mentioning it to me once. But it seems like it's getting much louder now, even interfering with conversation/radio, etc.
Are there any Porsche TSBs on this?
I've heard the Conti's are a bit quieter. Is that true?
Thanks in advance,

Porsche uses Pirelli, Continental, Michelin and Bridgestone on thier new cars today.
I think it is a characteristic of the Asimetrico tires with the stiff suspension. P-Zero Rosso's, Conti's and Yokohama's are supposed to be quieter. Rosso's aren't available yet in the right size. Pilot sport 2's and P-Zero Rosso's are supposed to be available in March or April in 315/30-18. Pirelli told me that the Rosso's were smoother and quieter than the Asimetrico's. I have been impressed with the street traction of the Asimetrico's, both wet and dry. I briefly ran some Yokohamas, they were smoother, quieter and had less dry traction. They are also several pounds per tire heavier than Asimetricos.
