Does ECU Have to Re-learn After Diverter Valve Install?

I just had the EVOMS billet diverter valves and new Bosch FR7's spark plugs installed by my mechanic. When I called to pick it up he said the car is hestitating at idle, jumping idle and the DME Torque Converter light came on. Does the ECU have to re-learn anything when the new diverter valves are installed?

Also, it was throwing ABS/PSM Failure lights for a while now. He cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner and still the problem persists. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Bosch FR7s?? Un uh.. I hope you got FR6s? Also the ECU doesn't need to relearn like that after a DV install. Sounds like some vacuum lines are either leaking or not hooked up right? Also that weird "searching" it does at idle is usually when a maf is either not working properly or when it's not plugged in properly...

I agree with Alex however I might add that over the years I have been presented with many a "just been cleaned MAF" that were in fact very dirty. The cleaner used by some actually leaves a residue on the wires and can actually make the situation worse.

Hang in there

Thanks all. I will have my mechanic check for any hose leaks, etc. and make certain the MAF cleaner did not leave any residue. Forgot to mention he also put on a K&N air filter. Maybe the oil from the filter got on the MAF?????

Thanks,
Adam

when I went to the new diverters I also upgraded to silicone turbo boost hoses, those hoses are a real problem.

My hoses are stock. Hopefully something is not snug or fit right it it will rectify itself. Why such probelms w/silicon hoses?

Now that would more or less be a leak if you have not had that issue before. It is common in intake leaks. There is no learn period for BOVs. Also 7s are too hot for your car. Have them removed and replaced with 6s.

Any smart mechanic would have captured a baseline of all sensor readings prior to any mods. Simply have him look at the current readings which will give him a better clue as to what the problem is.
