Bleeding Brakes after a few Lapping session - How to ?

Hi,

Some of the guys at the track told me to bleed my brake system once a while. I am running oem pads and disk and did not intend to make any changes to it. Do I really need to bleed the system ? If I do, can someone tell me what I need to do ? What I can understand is:

1 - Work on 1 corner at the time.
2- Unscrew the bolt and open the brake fluid reservoir
3- Have someone firmly press the brake pedal to the bottom
4- Tighten the bolt
5- Check is the reservoir is below "Min" (if yes, add fluid)
6- Depress brake pedal.

7- Repeat on the nest 3 corners ?

Car is a 2003 911 Twin Turbo no X50 no Ceramic.

Thanks

You don't need to do this in the middle of a track day. Just get it done every 2-3 yr or before/after the track season.

For instructions on brake fluid bleed, you can check renntech.org. You are describing the 2 man method without any bleeding tools. You can get a suction too which will draw out the fluid too.

I just bought a Motive PowerBleeder and it works great. The nice thing is you can do them by yourself and dont need anyone pumping the brake pedal.

I've hear that since our cars are ABS, there is special attention that need to be taken. What are those "special attention" ?

Thanks
