SUSPENSION *need help
Hi guys,
Ok, I'm going back and forth and finally came up with my final decision on the suspension after speaking with Ray. I will go with the JIC setup, but I'm not sure which spring rate I should go for. I think I have two options - let me know if I'm missing any:
1) JIC CROSS Competition Suspension Kit - 2001-2004 Porsche 996TT (7kg/10kg)
2) JIC CROSS Competition Suspension Kit - 2001-2004 Porsche 996TT (8kg/12kg)
I'm not going to the track at all with this car, so it will be my daily driver from work and home. I do want a stiffer and lower ride for sure, and I heard the PSS9s is on the soft side still and ride height isn't that low, so help guide me in the right direction guys, and thanks again for all the help!

All this time, I've been contemplating between the two brands. PSS9 seems to be the more common one, but I heard there are issues if the car was lowered too low and if it was not installed correctly, the bumper stopper would hit something. So far, I haven't heard of any issues with the JIC. I do want a damper / lower ride, so JIC seems like it's the more obvious choice. Price wise, isn't much of a difference, thus, I concluded with the JIC.

WOODTSTER: thanks for the input... 8/12 was what I was thinking of going for... I guess this will finalize my decision... I guess you purchased a set of JICs as well?.. 8/12s too?
Awesome Woodtster!! and congratulations... the guy I called will get back to me tomorrow about pricing... how much did you pay for urs, if you dont mind sharing...
As for height for me, I was thinking 1cm between top of tire and fender...

I think the JIC's are way overkill for someone with no track interest. These are usually the track set up compromise for someone who doesnt want to go with motons. If all you want is the car lowered, bang for the buck is just change the springs to H&R, get the ride height you want and a pretty good ride as well.
but since you already decided good luck and enjoy

I bought a set of JIC for my 993 C4S from another C4S owner after he put a couple hundred miles on them. He didn't like the harsh ride.
After putting them on my car with the 8kg and 12kg springs I decided to go with the 7kg and 10kg for a slightly softer ride. I wasn't tracking the car and the firm ride was not that bad unless the wifey was with me and she no likey no matter which springs it had. It is the dampers that really make the ride harsh as I couldn't feel that much difference between the 2 different sets of springs. After a year with the JIC's I sold the car and the new owner reomoved them because the ride was too harsh. Bottom line is that if you are not tracking the car you will find that the JIC's are a very, very firm ride. Good luck
