Thumbs up Bay Area Porsche Autrocross School in FEBRUARY!

The GGR/Porboys Beginners Autocross School
Date: February 21, 2004. Saturday from 8:00-4:00
Cost: $85 a person, includes lunch and t-shirt
Location: S.F. Candlestick Park Stadium parking lot

This event is limited to 47 students and is intended for members who have
little or no autocross experience. Skills that we will be working on
include: skidpad, course walk, course analysis, worker positions, and a lot
of seat time on the course! This is also a good events for couples, family,
and friends to spend a day learning together. Two drivers can share one
Porsche for this event, with no reduction in driving time.

To register, send check, made payable to "PCA-GGR":

Howard Yao
62 El Bonito Way
Millbrae, CA 94030

If it rains that day, we will reschedule to event as soon as possible. Make
sure you have at least half a tank of gas and that the carefully check your
tire pressures. If you do not know the optimal tire pressures for your car,
a rule of thumb is to add 4-5 psi to the factory recommended pressures.
You'd rather have more air than less, so you don't scuff up your tire
sidewalls.

The only safety equipment required is a helmet and the standard seat belts
in your car. If you do not own a helmet, we have a limited amount of loaners
on a first come first serve basis. Keep in mind, our loaners helmets are old
and stinky - a last resort. Buying or borrowing a helmet from a friend is
the best route.

If you do consider buying a helmet, either a motorcycle or autoracing helmet
will do fine. Make sure the helmet is DOT and SNELL approved. You probably
don't need to spend over $200 for a helmet, there are a lot of good ones for
about $150 at your local motorcycle shop. The brand isn't as important as
the fit and comfort of the helmet.

If you have a child between the ages of 16-18 and would like to participate,
please print out the following form, sign it, and return it with your
payment - http://www.pca-ggr.org/pdf/GGRAXParentalConsent.pdf

Remember to include the year and model of your car and also your T-shirt
size when you send in your check! See you in February!!!
