Question Need help concerning CEL light...

Ok guys, my car threw a CEL light a few days ago mostly likely from having FVD race pipes installed about 4 weeks ago (800 miles on the car before the CEL came on with the race pipes on the car). Currently my car has a Stage 2 GIAC upgrade. The car runs as good with the CEL on as it did before it came on and I will be putting my Cargraphic exhaust back on due to the noise level of the race pipes. My question is....can I have my local shop in Vegas (Carl's Place) turn off the CEL light after re-installing the Cargraphic exhaust without erasing my GIAC program???

yes.. u can get a $70 hand held unit at pep boys and u can do it all the time...
and yes its becasue of the straight pipes... GAIC does not turn off the oxygen sensors via ecu... FVD does. so no wonder why u got the cel lite.

Thanks Mark! I love performance increase using the race pipes (increase in the low and mid range power) but the neighbors are lookin at me funny... I'm gonna do a nice little write-up on the race pipes in another thread both the pros and cons, but they were a blast to have on the track and got compliments for a few instructors on the sound when I was WOT on the straightaways. You should come out to Vegas one of these days, maybe to SEMA and I will have my grandma make some perogies and other fresh polish food for us.
