2000 miles since I bought an 03 TT with 7500 miles on it and the oil is now down 1 tick. I was beginning to worry about whether the gauge even worked since everyone's oil usage is so high.

Isn't 1 tick equal to 1/4 of a quart.

 

I think the consumption is supposed to taper down with miles....

 

You've probably used more oil but oil dilution by gasoline raises the level some. It's mentioned in the shop manual.

 

Your oil usage will decrease as you put more miles on.
