ECU Reset Question

I noticed a few drops of oil on the garage floor (not an RMS) and I took it in to the dealer for repair. They had to pull the engine and replaced about a dozen O rings. Now my question.

I had the upsolute chip done about 6 months ago. I can't quite tell yet but I was wondering if the dealer resets the ECU when they pull the engine. If so, does that mean I need it reprogrammed again??

By the way, I have 2001 996 TT. The repairs (less the fluids) were covered by Continental Warranty (about $1900).

If they look and there is a TSB update for something they will update the ECU in which case it will be reflashed and the program gone. They will not tell you since it is just a routine thing for them. You should call and ask them. If your dealer is not mod freindly I wouldn't tell them why. I would just say the car seems to run different did you update the ECU or something
