K&N Air Filter Install

Does anyone have a PDF link to install the air filter in a 2001 996TT. I don't want to screw it up.

Thanks in advance.

rspiteri, easy, just remove the 13mm bolt at the rear base, loosen the large intake hose clamp in front of the air box, once the hose clamp has been loosened rotate the entire box counter clock wise until it's almost competely upside down, then slide the box off of the hose. Once the box is removed just loosen all the Philips screws and remove and replace the filter. Make sure to clean all the dirt and dust around the seal before replacing with the new K&N.

I would recommend laying the air filter on a clean bed of shop towels to help wick out the excess oil from the filter

Reinstall in the opposite order.

That trick about rotating the air box almost all the way upside down is the key. I tried for 30 minutes to get the airbox out until I found this thread. The DIY section over at renntech.org is great, but it left that key trick out about rotating the air box.

Thanks a ton!! I was able to complete the whole job in about 15 minutes.
