I vented the sunroof and put the receiver on the center of the roof area...I will snap a picture...give me 2minutes..

Here are the photos...I also mounted the AX-22 in the center of the front window and then used a digital level and made shure the unit was 'square' on flat ground....I also like to calibrate the unit before any runs on flat ground with the engine turned off (the less vibrations the better when calibrating)....

Alex, aren't you overdoing it a little bit? When I said make sure it is level, I did not mean you needed a Harvard degree to check it out!

Antenna mounting

Craig,

Generally speaking the GPS antenna will work best if located on the top of the vehicle..assuming you have a metal roof. The metal roof serves as a "ground plane" which effectively increases useable signal strength.

FWIW,I have several GPS antennae roof mounted and I simply snake the coaxial cables thru a small crack in the passenger side window.Yes,I have crimped more than one cable when I had a brain cramp and closed the window to tightly.

Cheers

R

I mount the GPS on the roof. With the frameless windows, you can shut the door onto the lead if you do it in the right place carefully and it won't crimp. That way there's no wind noise at speed.
